Robert Mackey II

Built Through Adversity.
Guided by Purpose.
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Robert Mackey II is a nationally respected youth advocate, mentor, and community leader committed to changing lives through powerful conversations, education, and personal transformation.

At just 17 years old, Robert survived gun violence and was wrongfully sentenced to a mandatory 38-year prison sentence for non-violent offenses. During more than 25 years of incarceration, he made the decision to transform his life through discipline, spiritual growth, self-education, and personal accountability instead of allowing his circumstances to define him.

Today, Robert uses his voice and experience to mentor youth, support families, and help communities address violence, trauma, mental health challenges, incarceration, and hopelessness. Through workshops, speaking engagements, mentoring programs, and now STEADFAST, he equips young people with practical principles and tools to overcome adversity and build a better future.

Robert believes every young person deserves guidance, grace, and the opportunity to rewrite their story.

My Mission
